Really good!
I have been intrested in making homemade sausages for awhile. Reading up on this I was ready to purchase my first meat grinder/stuffer.
After reviewing many here on amazon which I'm sure all are great, I came across this Alfa MC-5.
When I finally decided on this one, ordered thru Atlantic Shores Equipment here on amazon com, I was very impressed as soon as I recieved my package. Which mind you, came at a lightening speed and well packaged for saftey.
As stated above, this little guy is 1/2 Horse Power. Its very powerful. No grinding metal gears. Its really nice and solid. Big enough to get some serious meat grinding done, but not to big to be a hassel trying to clean in your sink especally if living in a small town home or apartment.
The only thing I wish that was differant is if the power cord was alittle longer. But Im not complaining. Speaking of the power cord, the Alfa MC-5 has a compartment to store it in when not in use. Pretty classy...
Very happy with this grinder
There's not a lot that I can add to the other review (SO thorough), but I definitely wanted to express my satisfaction with the quality of this unit. It's very powerful and the parts are definitely built to last. This is heavy metal, not plastic. You might find a grinder cheaper, but I didn't see anything of this quality at a lower price.
Great for making homemade dog food
I have to say I'm very happy with this grinder. I purchased this as a replacement for a more popular brand that had a crummy plastic piece where the blade rod attaches to the motor. Everytime I used my old grinder at some point the blade would come loose and the food would fly out as it spun to the side.
This grinder is worth the extra money. So far I have used it twice with nary a problem. No plastic parts except for the motor housing, which makes it lighter, so that's a plus.
I grind cooked meat and vegetables in it and it has done the job quite nicely. I would recommend it! The only reason I'm giving it four out of five stars is that the parts are not stainless steel, but I suppose I could get that if I paid a little more. Also, I have to put it up on a wooden cutting board so I have enough room for my largest mixing bowl to fit underneath. Small price to pay for a great grinder, however.
