Leakage
The decanter was fine when it was on the burner and warm, but when the burner was turned off and allowed to cool, it would start leaking coffee.
Don't buy under any circumstances!!!
Ain't no way this decanter could EVER be described as "Lasting Quality"! More like "Nonexistent Quality".
I run a small coffee fund for my company, and I bought four decanters that had the stainless steel bottom and polycarbonate top (one orange-handled for decaf, two black-handled for caffeinated, and the fourth to keep as a spare) to replace old decanters of the exact same type that were so stained they wouldn't clean up any more. The type I bought had the logo "Update" silkscreened onto them, so you may have a different experience if you buy another type.
Everything was OK for several months, until one of the black-handled decanters developed a crack in the polycarbonate plastic just above the seam where it meets with the stainless steel bottom. It didn't leak, so I foolishly made the assumption that somebody must have dropped the decanter or treated it very roughly for a crack to appear in supposedly 'unbreakable' polycarbonate plastic.
